Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wants a baby, but not enough to get married to her longtime fiancé and try to conceive one naturally now. Instead, the 36-year-old democratic socialist plans to freeze her eggs so that sometime in the undefined future she can pay to get possibly get pregnant.

Even more shocking than hearing that the Green New Deal architect who once asked if a climate change-induced end of the world means it is “OK to still have children” suddenly has plans to start her own brood is seeing her display the private and sensitive details of her family planning in an influencer-style “get ready with me” livestream over the weekend.

“I want you all to see that. And because women can do anything, and I think it’s bad-ss that I’m going to be giving myself shots in the green room [as I] get my glam on,” she said.

“This is just not something that men deal with,” AOC added. She conveniently omits that it’s not something she has to “deal with” either.

AOC claims she’s undergoing the expensive and physically painful process of egg cryopreservation so she can “feel more in control of my life.” Contrary to the messaging that’s permeated our culture since the start of the sexual revolution, however, fertility can’t be controlled. Anyone pitching something that promises otherwise is simply selling a very pricey illusion of control.

It’s hard to know if hormone shots in the greenroom is political stunt or legitimate attempt to preserve the potential for future pregnancy. Either way, AOC and everyone who........
