Deluge aftermath

Torrential floods and monsoon rains have taken a toll on the economy. It seems to be a repeat of the 2022 deluge devastation, wherein the economy shrunk to the tune of $10 billion. The World Bank has painted a dismal picture of Pakistan's economy saying that growth for FY26 will dip by 0.5%, spiraling inflation to 7.2% and causing a decline in exports by 1.5%.

Being agrarian, Pakistan's economy is in dire straits as 2.2 million hectares of agricultural land has come under flood waters, with standing crops........
