Elliot Forhan, a Democrat running for attorney general in Ohio, has told The Daily Signal he’s still “running to be Ohio’s next attorney general,” after saying he’s “going to kill [President] Donald Trump.”

Forhan explained in a Facebook video on Tuesday that he will get Trump convicted of a capital crime if he becomes the Buckeye State’s next attorney general.

“I’m going to obtain a conviction, rendered by a jury of his peers, at a standard of proof beyond a reasonable doubt, based on evidence, presented at a trial, conducted in accordance with the requirements of due process, resulting in a sentence, duly executed, of capital punishment. That is what I mean when I say that ‘I am going to kill Donald Trump,’” Forhan said in a video posted on Facebook.

Forhan told The Daily Signal, “I am running for Ohio attorney general to apply the law equally to everyone, including the rich and the powerful. Including the U.S. president.”
