It is with tremendous shock that I inform you: Nina Turner, self-identified democratic socialist and former Democratic State Sen. of Ohio, has made a good point. Not without resistance from her fellow leftists. 

“The GOP’s budget cuts to [National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)] are set to take effect at the start of fiscal year 2026, which begins on October 1, 2025,” Turner posted Sunday on X. “Anyone making the deaths of the children in Texas about partisan politics is morally bankrupt. Flash floods devastated Central Texas over the Fourth of July weekend, taking the lives of at least 95 people, according to the New York Times. Larry Leitha, Kerr County sheriff, told reporters that 27 children numbered among the dead. 

Turner maintained her position in another X post: “It takes a serious lack of humanity to see children die in a natural disaster and respond with something along the lines of ‘that’s what they voted for.’ Shameful.”

To get a sense of the extraordinary nature of Turner making common sense, refer to her recent claim that America does not “have moral high ground” in its treatment of women. As compared to Iran.
