Democrats Will Never Learn Their Lesson And Gavin Newsom’s Wife Proved It In Resurfaced Clip

Democrats persist in pandering to their audiences in the least subtle ways imaginable.

Jennifer Siebel Newsom, wife of Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom, provided a perfect example of that tendency in a resurfaced 2016 clip. 

Siebel Newsom recalled relating her “own loss” to juvenile offenders in San Quentin.

“I lost my older sister a few days before my 7th birthday. And I blamed myself for her death. And I share that because, they, ultimately, were accused of committing these violent crimes, and sentenced for life, and I think it shocked them that this, you know, blonde lady, who was, you know, interviewing them, had a similar story, was perhaps in the wrong place at the wrong time … But wasn’t punished the way they were, because clearly it was an accident, but theirs was probably an accident too.” (RELATED: Gavin Newsom’s Wife Obsessed With Belittling Men)

At the age of 6, Siebel Newsom reportedly struck her 8-year-old sister, Stacey, with a golf cart by accident while on family vacation in Hawaii, killing the little girl. Only a very stupid person, or a willfully ignorant one, would describe this incident as “similar” to the sort of crimes which land a person in San Quentin. 

In fact, the San Francisco Chronicle published a profile of San Quentin’s juvenile offenders in 2019. Anthony Ammons reportedly joined a gang at the age of 11. When he was 16, Ammons yelled at a stranger, “What’s up, blood?” The stranger did not acknowledge him. Ammons “said he felt humiliated in front of his homeboys, so he started shooting,” killing the man and injuring the man’s wife and brother-in-law. 

Gavin is no stranger to pandering himself. In February, the California governor told an Atlanta crowd, “I’m not trying to impress you. I’m just trying to impress upon you, I’m like you. I’m no better than you. You know, I’m a 960 SAT guy. And, you know, I’m not trying to offend anyone, you know, trying to act all there if you got 940. But, literally a 960 SAT guy. You’ve never seen me read a speech. Because I cannot read a speech.”

Some interpreted Newsom’s remarks as racially motivated. Newsom was sitting across from Democratic Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens, who is black. 

“[Newsom’s] way of bonding with black ppl is to tell them how stupid he is & that he can’t read,” wrote rapper Nicki Minaj. 

In Newsom’s defense, he was speaking to a largely white audience, judging by this video. Regardless, he may have assumed much of the audience was black given Atlanta’s demographics.

In any case, Newsom’s remark was pure condescension. I am just like you, the average voter, because I am dumb. 

Newsom was criticized for rolling out a black accent on the “All The Smoke” podcast in October 2025.

“It was also about paying the bills, man. It was just like hustling, and so I was out there kind of raising myself, turning on the TV … started, you know, just getting obsessed. [I was] sitting there with the Wonder Bread …  the macaroni and cheese. This is how I grew up, bro. Every day in the backyard just bouncing the basketball, throwing the ball against the wall until the ball is just like frayed … that’s it. Whole thing.”

Other Democrats prefer to tailor their accents to their audience.

Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez donned a latin accent while doing a sort of spoken word performance at an October rally for then-New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani.

Ocasio-Cortez’s greatest accent moment occurred at a 2022 town hall, where she demanded the crowd, “Listen, listen, listen, okay, listen,” in a very latin accent.

Harris has also tried out a black accent.

“Hello to all my divine nine, brothas and sistas, and my sorors,” Harris cackled at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s 2024 Phoenix Awards Dinner. 

Harris donned a similar accent earlier in 2024 while on the campaign trail with former President Joe Biden.

The playbook for Democrats is to align themselves with the dumb and/or criminally inclined, or to simply appeal to voters’ ethnic loyalties.
