Parents Bringing Back A Blast From The Past Will Make American Kids Great Again
Make landlines great again?
One of my favorite memories growing up was calling a friend’s house from a landline. Not texting him or calling on a cell phone; using a landline to figure out a time to hang out, go skateboarding, play soccer, whatever.
Most times, a parent would pick up, and I would proceed with a minute or two of small talk before asking them if so-and-so was around to talk. Once my friend was on the phone, we’d hash out a plan for the weekend. Whose house? What time? Do you need a ride? Etc. (Subscribe to MR. RIGHT, a free weekly newsletter about modern masculinity)
Those were the days, as the adults say. You didn’t need a cell phone........
