With fires rolling through Los Angeles, lives at stake, and billions in property already destroyed, the sexuality of the L.A. Fire Department leadership is the last thing I care about. Yet for gay activists, shattering that glass ceiling still seems to be the only thing on their minds.

Gay agitprop website Pride.com ran an exceptionally tone-deaf story about the fires Wednesday afternoon, arguing that L.A.’s  “first LGBTQ fire chief is proving lesbians get it done.”
