This might just take the cake for the 2025-26 college basketball season when it comes to peak awkwardness.

Michigan State dominated USC with an 80-51 blowout victory Monday night, but while the action on the court lacked suspense, we had crazy drama in the stands.

The game coincided with the annual Izzone Alumni Night, bringing a host of former Spartans back to East Lansing to celebrate head coach Tom Izzo. Ex-Michigan State center Paul Davis was among those in attendance, but he didn’t make it to the end of the game, and it certainly wasn’t his decision to leave early.
