Another Voice: Genesee County leaders are ignoring the interests of residents
We object to Genesee County Economic Development Center CEO Mark Masse’s statement condemning the one year moratorium on new data center construction recently passed by the state Legislature. Masse asserts that such a state-wide moratorium violates "home rule," thus dismissing as irrelevant the well-documented opposition by local residents to the proposed STAMP data center – including roughly 15 hours of testimony at multiple public hearings, several thousand comments submitted on the public record to GCEDC and the Town of Alabama Planning Board, countless letters to the editor, and numerous protests.
