Ian Holloway has provided the first reason to believe in Swindon Town for over two seasons and it is time to end the ambiguity and get a contract done.

Pay Payne. Keep Kemp. Hold onto Holloway.

The first two in that sequence never transpired but I think that it is time to put any degree of uncertainty around the third to bed and get the contract signed.

Holloway, for his part, was very open last week when he said that he would be happy to sign whatever passed his lawyers and has been open about that for more than a month. So why wait?

I wrote when he arrived that I felt the charisma and experience of Holloway could be the antidote for the many issues which had plagued the previous two-and-a-half seasons of decline. Even with that hope,
