Upset at news of 1,200 new homes needed each year in Swindon
News of Swindon having to build more than 1,200 new houses each year for two decades to meet national targets has not gone down well with residents.
The new figures will be included in Swindon Borough Council’s Local Plan which is being prepared before an initial publication this summer for public consultation.
The council is working on a revised Local Plan after pausing its progress in late 2022 just a year before a plan taking the borough to 2036 was expected to be approved and come into force.
