Vue’s new self-service system has received mixed reactions from Adver readers.

The Greenbridge cinema recently revamped its lobby and introduced an innovative new way for customers to pick and pay for snacks and drinks when they see films at the multiplex.

Wayland Smith said: “What next? Bring your own device and project something from Netflix onto the screen? Total rip off given the staff have been replaced by a vending machine!”

Mark Fullick said: “How are we going to increase employment if we keep finding ways to not employ people.

“I would pay the extra couple of quid to actually have jobs created.”

Laura Holland said: “£3.85 for a basic sweets pouch isn’t going to entice many. Same sweets were in the Co-op for £1. If they made the margins lower, they may actually sell more.”

Joanne Scott said: “I like it, but shame the prices are so high.”
