Farmers driving tractors through Swindon to protest changes to their inheritance tax received mixed reactions from Adver readers.

Tractors lined the road outside the Swindon Borough Council offices and BBC Wiltshire’s Old Town headquarters on Monday.

Paul Gardner said: “Pay your taxes like the rest of us.”

Adrian Oxenham said: “They pay more than you do. They give into this country more than you do and without them you would be hungry.”

Robert Weyman agreed: “No farmers no food. Asset rich, cash poor, it'll affect a huge majority, only the Labour lefty loons support this ridiculous tax.”

Graeme Reynolds disagreed: “No fan of Starmer but most farmers are tenants and most of the agricultural land........
