Fears Swindon's drone factory news could make town target
Tekever announcing plans to open the UK’s largest drone factory in Swindon sparked a lot of discussion.
The company welcomed the Secretary of State for Defence, John Healey MP, to open the site in the Grade II-listed Spectrum building on Monday.
The former Renault car dealership and Kidz About play centre in West Swindon has been given a new lease of life.
The company says the new facility is its largest in the UK, and will bring hundreds of jobs to the town with both a factory and offices serving all elements of the company’s work from rapid prototyping of new ideas to the development of new platform concepts, and manufacturing will include production of the larger AR5 drone, to be built in Britain for the first time and increasing production of its AR3 model.
