Danny Kruger becoming the first sitting Conservative MP to defect to Reform UK sparked a lot of discussion.

The East Wiltshire MP’s defection was unveiled at a press conference on Monday, where Nigel Farage said Mr Kruger would head up Reform’s efforts to prepare for Government.

Nelly Mergatroyd quoted Tony Benn: "I have divided politicians into two categories: the Signposts and the Weathercocks. The Signpost says: 'This is the way we should go.' “And you don't have to follow them but if you come back in ten years time the Signpost is still there. The Weathercock hasn’t got an opinion until they've looked at the polls, talked to the focus groups, discussed it with the spin doctors."

Nelly added: “The idea that Reform is a party of "the people" is laughable.

"They would give tax breaks to millionaires and billionaires, they would destroy the NHS, they want zero hour contracts and fire and rehire, they would demonise working people on benefits and destroy the economy by implementing a cruel trump style mass deportation, their policies are uncosted and would cause the same sort of chaos as Truss did. Stay well away.”
