Are bad drivers or Swindon road conditions to blame for safety issues?
News of a commitment to improving Swindon’s road safety has been welcomed by Adver readers.
The Transport Secretary recently met with residents who raised concerns about Okus Road in Old Town.
Discussions at the meeting revolved around the potential introduction of electronic signage.
Concerns about speeding on Okus Road were raised in 2019, leading to a traffic survey by Swindon Borough Council.
The survey results at the time indicated that the speed on the road didn’t meet the threshold for further speed education or enforcement.
However, due to the road's proximity to a school and other issues raised by the local Neighbourhood Policing Team, a speed enforcement site was identified.
Here’s what you had to say on the matter.
