Petition for councillor's resignation after 'live less extravagantly' remark
A petition has been launched calling for the resignation of a councillor who has suggested people should "live less extravagantly" if they're creating too much waste.
Councillor Yvonne Forsey, who represents Newport's Rogerstone West, made the remark in a council tax and budget meeting after the council received complaints about waste collection.
Earlier this year, Newport City Council switched to one collection of household waste every three weeks to cut costs and boost recycling rates.
Recycling waste is collected weekly.

The council has responded by placing warning stickers on communal bins, cautioning residents against dumping household waste.
