A charity shop was transformed into a TV set when a BBC crew arrived to film a new daytime series.

Monmouthshire Upcycle, based in Chepstow, is set to be featured in an episode of Shift the Thrift, an upcoming BBC show celebrating the charm of second-hand shopping and sustainable living.

Hosted by Welsh actress Joanna Page, best known for her roles in Gavin & Stacey and Love Actually, the show sees contestants hunt for hidden gems in charity shops before upcycling and selling them in live-streamed auctions.

A spokesperson for Monmouthshire Upcycle said: "We’re passionate about reducing waste and giving people access to affordable, quality items.

"It was a real privilege to showcase that on such a big platform.

"We hope it inspires more people to shop second-hand........
