Gavin & Stacey star Joanna Page has admitted to telling her family about how the finale ended before it aired on the BBC, despite being sworn to secrecy.

The last-ever episode of hit BBC sitcom Gavin & Stacey aired on Christmas Day last year and was watched by more than 19 million viewers.

The 90-minute finale was the most-watched TV programme on Christmas Day in 23 years.

Gavin & Stacey creators, James Corden and Ruth Jones, along with the rest of the cast, remained tight-lipped about the finale before its release. Or so we thought.

Page, speaking at the Cheltenham Literature Festival, admitted to telling her husband, fellow actor James Thornton, and mum about the Gavin & Stacey finale as soon as she found out about it.
