Strictly fans slam 'unfair' never seen before twist that's 'going to be a mess'

Strictly Come Dancing fans have slammed an “unfair” never seen before dance challenge on the BBC show that’s “going to be a mess”, set to air after Blackpool.

In week 10, the remaining contestants who make it through after this Saturday’s episode (November 22) live from the iconic Tower Ballroom up north, will take part in a new Instant Dance challenge.

Overseen by presenters Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, Instant Dance on November 29 will see each remaining couple to pick a dance style at random from ones they have learnt in the competition so far.

They will then be played their accompanying music and after racing through wardrobe to select and change into their costumes, each couple will have just 10 seconds on the countdown clock to decide exactly how they’re going to dance it.

But how will the scores work? After all six Strictly couples have danced, the judges, including Shirly Ballas, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and Craig Revel Horwood, will rank them and award their extra marks accordingly.

A maximum of six marks will be awarded to the couple whose Instant Dance performance impressed them the most, right down to one point for the couple whose dance impressed them the least.

However, many fans have been left confused after the announcement as they believe this will only “benefit” the celebrities with “a dance background”.

On X, someone said: “This will only be good for the ones with a dance background….can already predict the leaderboard.”........
