Newport’s Gallery 57 is taking an exhibition to Pontypridd following an invitation from the town’s MP, government minister Alex Davies-Jones.

The parliamentary under Secretary of State visited the Words Matter exhibition when it was first shown in Gallery 57 last International Women’s Day (2024) and immediately asked that it be taken to Pontypridd. The MP’s remit includes the issue of violence against women and girls.

“This exhibition has just struck a chord with so many people,” said gallery owner Nicole Garnon.

“We were packed out here when we pulled the exhibition together last March, and I am delighted that it is now going to be seen by a new audience.”
