One of Hollyoaks’ longest-serving stars is reportedly set to leave the show in the near future.

Actress Alex Fletcher, best known for her role as Diane Hutchinson, is said to be quitting the soap after 16 years, which would mark the end of one of British soap’s longest-running roles.

Fletcher, 49, is believed to have informed show bosses of her decision late last year and is expected to film her final scenes in the coming months.

A source told The Sun: "Alex is one of the show’s most popular characters both on and off screen – everyone just adores her.
