A fan-favourite Coronation Street star is to make a return to the beloved ITV soap opera.

Matt Milburn, who is reprising the role of Tommy Orpington, is set to make a return in the spring.

The actor has appeared intermittently since 2016, making his last appearance in July of last year.

The Coronation Street character, who became a painter and decorator, was hired by Tracy McDonald (Kate Ford) to do up her bedroom.

The pair then started a steamy romance, leaving her partner Steve (Simon Gregson) devastated when he found out.

Soon after, Tommy revealed that he had secured a new job working as a football coach in Spain.

However, Tracy revealed that his contract was coming to an end and that they would be returning to the UK.
