SF’s most popular doughnut shop announces opening date for new digs
A family-owned and -operated business, Bob’s Donuts has been an SF trademark since the 1960s.
After failing to come to a new lease agreement last summer, San Francisco’s most popular doughnut shop has announced the opening date of its new location. It will only be a block away, less than 300 feet, from the original.
Bob’s Donuts, a 24-hour haunt that has fed San Franciscans and tourists late-night treats since the 1960s, will unveil its new Polk Street shop on Friday, Feb 21., as a soft opening, according to an Instagram post. Located at 1720 Polk St., the new outpost will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. that day; management will be hanging art made by community members, “handing out some donuts to try” and giving away Bob’s Donuts tote bags to the first 80 people at the door.
