Man skysurfs onto Bay Bridge suspension cables for jaw-dropping Red Bull stunt
The latest brain-breaking achievement that Red Bull helped engineer came to the City by the Bay over the weekend, and the videos are impossible to believe — but incredibly real.
On Saturday morning, Red Bull skydiving athlete Sean MacCormac became what the company says is the first man to skysurf onto a bridge and grind on it, using the Bay Bridge to complete the achievement.
Skysurfing is effectively skydiving with a board strapped to your feet and performing tricks in the air, like you’re surfing or snowboarding. MacCormac dropped out of a helicopter from about 5,000 feet above San Francisco Bay, skysurfed down onto the Bay Bridge, rode along the western span’s north-side suspension cables in a skateboard-style grind for a few moments before bouncing off the bridge and continuing to skysurf down to a barge floating in the water.
