Guests at one of California’s oldest ski resorts experienced a major aprés ski update last month thanks to a famed San Francisco chef. Now, it’s about to open to the entire Tahoe community.
Yarrow, Sugar Bowl Resort’s newest restaurant, is the latest culinary concept from award-winning TV chef Traci Des Jardins. According to a news release, it will feature seasonal dishes, including togarashi fried Brussels sprouts, duck fat potato rosti and lamb meatballs with labneh and mint chimichurri. The restaurant is part of a $100 million renovation to the 87-year-old resort. Des Jardins, who has won two James Beard awards in her career, is Sugar Bowl’s culinary advisor, along with head sommelier Clay Reynolds. Yarrow soft opened to the guests of the Village Lodge in mid-December and is having an invite-only grand opening party on Jan. 8 from 3 to 5 p.m. The restaurant is currently operational seven days a week from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. for breakfast and lunch, as well as 5 to 9 p.m. for dinner.
