Valkyries double down on making player fly 18 hours to get cut

The Golden State Valkyries doubled down on having a player fly 18 hours back to the Bay Area from an international tournament, only to cut her upon her arrival.
On Monday, now-former Valkyries guard Julie Vanloo took an 18-hour journey to San Francisco from Greece, where the Belgian had been competing in the EuroBasket tournament for her country. Belgium won the EuroBasket Women in a close matchup Sunday night, and most of the players went back to their country to attend a celebration, while Vanloo went to the Bay Area to rejoin Golden State.

According to Vanloo’s Instagram post on Tuesday, she was back in the Bay Area for only an hour before the team told her she was being waived, stunning the fiery guard and........
