ROBINET: Keep shining, Chatham-Kent
For almost eight years I commuted to my job as a reporter/editor at The Observer in Sarnia, and throughout that time I never ceased to be amazed at Chatham-Kent’s ability to often outshine the benevolence of that community.
I lost track of how many times similar charity events would be held in both communities and C-K residents put their counterparts to shame both with numbers of volunteers and dollars raised.
This, even though on average, Sarnians are a little more well-to-do than we are.
Not only are we generous, but we’ve also proven ourselves to be creative and out-of-the-box thinkers when it comes to helping out our neighbours.
We recently witnessed yet again, the outpouring of support that is The Gift, with volunteers and donors across Chatham-Kent united in the goal of ensuring that everyone in our community enjoys the best of the season.
It’s a lofty goal indeed, but in conjunction with so many........© Sarnia Observer
