WALLACEBURG ARTS: Members of three concert bands coming together in 2027

Over the past several weeks, I have been writing about three community concert bands and the event that will bring them together on June 9, 2027, for what promises to be a remarkable evening of music. 

BandTogether will see musicians from the Wallaceburg Concert Band, the Lambton Concert Band and the Chatham Concert Band share a stage at Tecumseh Park.

Collectively, these ensembles represent more than 135 years of community music-making. The Wallaceburg Concert Band is currently celebrated its 10th anniversary. The Lambton Concert Band has spent 25 years building musical community in Sarnia-Lambton, while the Chatham Concert Band is approaching an extraordinary milestone: 100 years of continuous music-making. 

As impressive as those numbers are, they only tell part of the story. 

Think about the changes a community experiences over a century. People come and go. Businesses open and close. Families grow, move away, and return. Economies rise and fall. Through all of that, the Chatham Concert Band has continued to rehearse, perform, and bring people........
