White House has vetted candidates for four empty CFTC seats but hasn't acted

The agency has operated with just one of its five commissioners since early in the Trump administration, with bipartisan calls to fill the seats

The White House has vetted candidates for the four vacant commissioner positions at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission but has not nominated anyone to fill the seats, according to CNBC, which cited three people with knowledge of the matter.

As of now, the CFTC is down to a single commissioner — Chairman Michael Selig — with the other four seats sitting vacant. By law, three seats must go to members of the party in the White House and two to the opposing party.
