U.S. private sector added 90,000 jobs in September, beating forecasts, ADP says

The figure topped the Dow Jones consensus estimate of 68,000 and reversed a three-month slowdown in hiring

ADP reported Wednesday that private-sector employers added 90,000 jobs in September, topping analyst expectations and snapping a streak of declining monthly totals.

The September figure surpassed the Dow Jones consensus estimate of 68,000, according to CNBC. It also marked a sharp improvement from the revised August total of 36,000 — itself revised down from an initially reported 38,000, the company said.
