Self-Compassion After Wrongdoing
Extensive research has shown that developing self-compassion leads to an increase in happiness, wisdom, curiosity, connectedness, and emotional resilience; Self-compassion contributes to the ability to take more personal responsibility, and is associated with less depression, anxiety, and rumination (Neff & Germer, 2018).
Despite these benefits, many individuals hesitate to offer themselves compassion, particularly when they've acted in ways that harm others.
