COMMENTARY: Charlottetown right to stand up to Ottawa's gun grab

That’s because people outside of Ottawa want their names attached to the failing program.

Charlottetown city council voted unanimously not to take part in Ottawa’s gun grab.

It’s a glaring rejection in a province where all four members of Parliament are Liberals.

This latest setback for Ottawa comes after the failure of its confiscation pilot project in Cape Breton. Ottawa said it was going to collect 200 firearms during this pilot project. The most optimistic reports so far say that the government only collected 22 guns.

“There doesn’t seem to be any emphasis put on illegal gun owners and the illegal guns that are on the street in this country,” said Charlottetown Coun.
