Meet the new executive for the Ladies Auxiliary of Branch 300
The Ladies Auxiliary of the Norwood Legion Branch 300 held its 2025 elections with a few new faces joining the executive and a few more people taking on new roles. The ladies have just had (in their own words) “a good year” and are confident the new administration will continue with the same success.
The Ladies Auxiliary supports and collaborates with their affiliated legion, they are however a completely separate entity, The Ladies Auxiliary of Norwood Branch 300 was actually formed Feb. 10, 1955, a total of 16 years after the branch itself. Although separate, they work in close partnership sharing the same values and goals of supporting veterans and the community.
At the first organizational meeting in 1955 a total of 20 ladies from the area were inducted. Their “principal work” as recorded in the minutes of this first meeting was “to help the returned soldier and his dependents and to assist the branch whenever possible.” Small but mighty the Ladies Auxiliary of Branch 300 soldier on to meet that mission.
It may seem a little unusual to be focusing on Norwood’s famous fall fair in June, however one particular........
