Kasol: Israel’s covert war room in India

FEW realize what lies behind the scenic charm of Kasol, a small town in India’s Himachal Pradesh once known for its tranquil valleys and mild climate. Today, this “Amsterdam of India” has evolved into a mini-Israel, with nearly 70 percent of its foreign visitors being Israelis. While this influx appears touristic, evidence suggests Kasol’s transformation is linked to the Israel-India military nexus, turning it into a covert war room serving deeper strategic and intelligence-linked purposes.

The bond between Kasol and Israel dates back to the 1980s when young Israelis, after completing military service, began visiting the area. The local economy is now heavily influenced by their presence, with trade even conducted in Israeli currency.
