Number of homeless children in Norfolk remains at record-high levels
Great Yarmouth, Breckland and North Norfolk District Council are the worst-affected areas in the county, according to the latest data from homelessness charity, Shelter.
In some districts, about 50pc of those living in temporary accommodation are young people, with councillors saying the situation is "awful" and "hard to comprehend".
It follows last year's figures reaching a record high with the number of families affected doubling in some instances with little sign of the problem improving.

FIGURES UNCHANGED
The Norfolk town with the biggest problem is Great Yarmouth, where one in 542 people are homeless.
There are 83 children living in temporary accommodation (TA), which equates to 45pc of the total number of 184 people.
While still high, this is a slight improvement to last year's figures, when more than 100 children were in TA.
In Breckland, there are also 83 children homeless out of the 243 people in total - 10 more than in 2023.
