Suspected bomb which sparked evacuation of city suburb turned out to be a lamppost
Police were called in when gas workers uncovered the object in Allen’s Lane in Sprowston on Wednesday morning.
Officers set up a 100-meter radius cordon and neighbours were told to evacuate to the nearby Sprowston Diamond Centre in School Lane.
