Plans submitted to convert former clubhouse built by city chocolate maker

The Clubhouse at the Elms just off Unthank Road - which was originally built by Caley’s - will be converted by Broadland Housing Association if the council gives the proposals the green light.

The site was built by the chocolate manufacturer in the early 20th century and was used as the headquarters of its Recreational Association.

It included six grass tennis courts and a large bowling green which could be used by Caley’s 250 employees.
