Norwich City Council has declined to reveal whether it was responsible for clearing the three tents which had been pitched on the grassed area at St Stephens roundabout for almost a week.

Pressure had been mounting on the authority to act amid fears the camp could distract motorists or put those staying there at risk as they crossed busy traffic lanes to enter and leave the roundabout.
