Here are some of the best indoor activities to explore in Norwich when it is looking grey outside.

For historical interest, visitors can take a look at the newly restored Norman keep at Norwich Castle and Museum.

It is particularly enjoyable for families with its interactive and immersive exhibitions that people can view across all five floors.

Nearby is Norwich Cathedral, which dates back to 1096 with highlights such as the spire, the cloisters and learning more about First World War heroine Edith Cavell at her final resting place.

People are able to wander the expansive building free of charge and can stop for food and drink at the café.

Combining history and modern entertainment, visitors can head to the Cryptic Escape room, Dungeon's Dragon, based along Tombland, which used to serve as a marketplace in the Anglo-Saxon era.

The riverside area of the city is home to plenty of indoor entertainment such as the Odeon cinema, which was given upgrades in 2024.

Just a minute away, people can let off steam at the Gravity trampoline park, bowl at Hollywood Bowl or head over to Mulligans to play crazy golf.

Despite being known as one of the largest and oldest outdoor markets, Norwich Market can still be enjoyed in the rain thanks to the glass roofs connecting each stall.

Nearby, there are often events at the Forum, such as the Norwich Games Festival, which is running from May 23 to May 30 this year.

The city is also home to two large indoor shopping centres, Chantry Place and Castle Quarter, which offers entertainment such as Boom Battle Bar, Retro Replay arcade and Si5 spy missions.
