Restaurant owner reveals financial impact during 'nightmare' months of roadworks

Stevie King, owner of the SugarBeat Eating House, says the work along Swainsthorpe which began in February has cost him around £40,000.

In that time there have been pleas for EDF Energy, which has sub-contractor Power Systems UK carrying out the cabling work, to reimburse the business for financial losses.

Adding insult to injury a lorry crashed into the restaurant's entrance during a thunderstorm in the early hours of June 14, which Mr King said will cost upwards of £10,000 to fix.

However despite the multiple issues and dip in earnings the businessman has tried to stay upbeat.
