They say the recent application, hoping to revamp the United Reformed Church (URC) located in Princes Street, would be good for the area.

If approved it would see the site host art exhibitions, theatre productions, classical concerts, as well as jazz, soul and Latin gigs.

It's a far cry from the backlash for a similar proposal, which was submitted for the site, back in September 2023.

Those plans would have seen the site host live music events and the option to serve food and drink.
