Work has officially started in Mousehold Lane, on what will be the 10th restaurant in the city sporting the golden arches.

It brings to an end a three-year battle between the fast-food giant and the council, which initially blocked the move to the site, near Mousehold Heath.

Diggers were seen at the plot, which is now fenced off with metal gates, working to redevelop the former Richard Nash car dealership.

The project has come under huge scrutiny since the application was first submitted to Norwich City Council in January 2022.

There's been consistent backlash against the opening of the site since the plans were submitted........
