Martha Goddard was up before magistrates in Westminster on Monday where she was charged with seven offences, said to have taken place between March and September.

The 49-year-old - described by neighbours as an "old hippy" - was arrested at her home in a quiet cul-de-sac near the UEA in a pre-dawn raid by counter-terrorism police on Friday.

Specialist officers from the Metropolitan Police and the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit (Ersou) spent four days carrying out searches of the property, which has pro-Palestinian slogans in the window, as well as a poster in support of Black Lives Matter.

Two of the criminal damage charges relate to incidents at the Tacolneston transmitting station, a 676ft mast in south Norfolk, which is used to transmit radio and television signals across the county.

Two of the other charges relate to damage at the Forum, in Norwich, while two others concern McDonald's and Starbucks, both on nearby Haymarket.

The final charge also relates to damage to a Starbucks, on St Stephen's Street, in an incident which was linked at the time to pro-Palestinian activists.

The incident at the time was described as an arson attack and resulted in damage to the doorway at the front of the shop.
