Plea for enforcement against 'nuisance' motorbike engines in city centre
It was suggested at a meeting of Norwich City Council that 'noise cameras' be installed to help tackle the issue in areas such as Bethel Street, Colegate and St Giles.
The technology can be used to automatically detect drivers unnecessarily revving engines, blasting loud music or using illegal modified exhausts.
Martin Schmierer, a Green councillor, said more needed to be done to address the "loud noise" coming from moped, car and motorbike engines and proposed the council should invest in the equipment.
