City Hall agrees extra £1m spend on ill-fated revamp as price tag doubles
The Labour-run cabinet at Norwich City Council has agreed to spend an extra £920,000 for repairs to the Halls after discovering decay in the roof structures.
The authority initially received £3.6m government funding for the revamp but costs have spiralled over the years and the total bill will now be close to £8m.
This overspend comes as the authority embarks on similarly ambitious schemes such as costly revamps of City Hall and Norwich Market and © Norwich Evening News
