Anger after council rejects plans for a cycle path cut-through
Peter Silburn, from the Norwich Cycling Campaign, claims that Broadland councillor Shelagh Gurney had initially supported plans to create a cycle and walk path linking the A140 Holt Road to Bush Road in Hellesdon.
He says she then suddenly u-turned on the scheme, resulting in it being rejected by the council.

Cllr Gurney disputes this, saying she never voiced approval for the cut-through because it could lead to anti-social behaviour and pose a security threat for locals.
The Bush Road link was proposed as part of the yellow pedalway extension from Norwich Airport to the Nest, close to the Broadland Northway interchange.
The cycle group said it would have allowed pedestrians and cyclists living in the neighbourhood west of the A140 to safely access the road and more easily cross to shopping amenities on the other side.
