Shotgun licence change bid branded 'another attack on Norfolk's rural way of life'

George Freeman, Mid Norfolk MP, has written to home secretary Shabana Mahmood ahead of a forthcoming consultation on plans to merge shotgun and firearms licensing.

The Conservative MP says merging shotgun licensing with the tighter controls imposed on rifles and other firearms could impose "unnecessary burdens" on responsible certificate holders.

And he said that will undermine the economic and cultural fabric of a rural community like Norfolk, where the MP said shooting has a "significant role".
