Mr Lewis called for Greater Manchester mayor Andy Burnham to be allowed to return to Parliament to stand in a leadership contest.

Mr Streeting has not stated he will challenge the prime minister, but called for a leadership challenge, telling Sir Keir it was "clear" he will not lead Labour into the next election.
