Environmental health officers are probing how the waste came to be left in a field between the Norwich South Recycling Centre and the Brooks Green Gypsy and Traveller site, at Harford Bridge.

Aerial photographs of the land next to the A47 show mounds of rubbish scattered across the field, including pallets, metal sheets, wood and electrical appliances.

A spokesman for South Norfolk Council said: "Officers have been tasked with investigating the fly-tipping incidents on this land.

"Where there is evidence to identify the offenders swift enforcement action will be taken by the council.
